SIUE alumna and former volleyball player Kindra Westendorf,24, died unexpectedly Monday.

Westendorf graduated from Edwardsville High School in 2002 and graduated from SIUE in 2006 with a bachelor's in biology.

At the time of her death, Westendorf in her second year of medical school at the University of Illinois at Rockford, with plans of becoming a doctor.
